Snap bright, clear selfies with the 16MP F1.7 rear camera and 16MP+8MP F1.9 Dual Front Camera, no matter where you are or what you're doing. Both the smartphones are powered by an octa-core 2.2GHz Dual Core +1.6Ghz Hexa Core processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage on the Galaxy A8. "The 5.6" and 6" 1080x2220 pixels displays still keep Samsung's weird signature 18.5:9 aspect ratio, though. The A8 rocks a 5.6-inch display, while the A8 Plus comes in at 6 inches. The smaller A8 gets a modest 3,000mAh capacity unit while the A8+ gets a larger 3,500mAh unit.
Both the devices will be initially available in European market starting January 2018. The Galaxy A8 comes with 4GB RAM as well as 32GB and 64GB storage variants.
The Galaxy A8 2018 model is available in only 4 GB RAM variant with either 32 GB or 64 GB inbuilt storage.
What is notable from the launch of the new mid-end smartphone is that Samsung made the brand names of the Galaxy A8 and A8 Plus similar to those of its flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus series. Guess what, Samsung's famous Live Focus camera mode is coming to both the phones.
Other features include support for "Samsung Pay" - a mobile payment and digital wallet service (with MST), IP68 water-proofing, dust resistance and fast-charging with USB Type-C. They will be available in January in black, orchid grey, gold and blue for about EUR499 and EUR599, respectively, and the fact that the pricing is given in European currency should hint at you that we might never see these two released officially on a USA carrier. Both the phones come equipped with an Infinity screen, which means, that much like Samsung's Galaxy S8/Galaxy S8+, the Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ 2018 also come with an edge-to-edge bezel-less display.
