Telecom operator Reliance Jio will cut tariffs by Rs. 50 in all its monthly schemes under which customers get 1 GB data a day.
Jio has also reduced the 1 GB data rate to Rs. 4 for a 1-day validity plan.
The Rs 349 plan will now offer benefits of what the Rs 399 plan did earlier. The company's revised recharge plans will come under Jio's "Happy New Year 2018" offer and will be available for subscribers from Tuesday i.e. 9 January 2018, a source reported. Reliance Jio offers unlimited voice calls, roaming and STD, access to MyJio apps and unlimited SMS for the duration of any plan.
If the users recharge with Rs 398 pack, they will get 105 GB data on the offer for a validity of 70 days which is approximately double of the current 70 GB data given. Starting tomorrow, Jio will add 14GB more data and 14 days additional validity for the same price.
The plan also offers unlimited local and STD calls, however, there is a daily limit of 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes for the week. With the change, users now get 1GB 4G data per day for 82 days, which brings the total to 82GB. The telco now offers either 50 per cent more data or has cut down the tariff of the plan by Rs 50.
Airtel has chose to also provide unlimited calling facility to its users but with "terms and conditions"; voice calls limited to 300 minutes per day and 1200 minutes per week. Also, the company is all set to increase the Data on some special recharges. User gets 42GB data for 28 days.
On a recharge of Rs 198, the users will get 42 GB data on the offer, as compared to 28 GB which was provided earlier. In total, the plan is offering 70GB of data.
Given that Airtel's revised plans are slightly costlier than what Jio offers now, it makes no sense for users to switch networks. This same plan now has a 91 days validity, offering 91GB data in total.
