Police said on Twitter Monday morning that she was found in the same area and appeared to be unharmed but was taken to a hospital to be evaluated.
Police say she appeared to have spent much of her time searching for her phone, which was found in her vehicle.
Ms Roland, a reporter for college sports websites Rivals.com and AggieYell.com, went missing after leaving a Team Texas Elite football try-out on Saturday at about 1600 local time.
Police in Houston say a passer-by contacted authorities after spotting a missing sports journalist underneath a highway overpass. She was at a nearby Chick-fil-a when officers arrived, a family member said. "She cared for other people".
Roland's roommate told KPRC that Roland texted her about a suspicious man she saw in Walgreens who was following her. During an afternoon news conference, police said Roland's disappearance my have been caused by a reaction to medication.
Police later said that Roland was found under an overpass. Her auto was found, with her phone and belongings inside it, near the mall overnight. Her purse was found elsewhere.
Roland's mother told KPRC she received a text from her daughter's phone, saying, "hello the owner of this phone Courtney".
The roommate said she was supposed to be meeting up with Roland - but never heard from her. Her phone and other items were inside the vehicle. Her phone was found inside the auto and her purse, which had an iPad, computer and credit cards, were found at a nearby business.
Governor Greg Abbott took to social media Sunday in an effort to help find the missing reporter, using the hashtag #HelpFindCourtney.
