He also included a message from actress Amy Poehler, who portrayed Knope, that involved expletives in criticism of the NRA.
Nick Offerman-who plays Ron Swanson, a vocal libertarian on the show-criticized the NRA for using a "good-hearted show" to promote a "pro-slaughter agenda".
The NRA took to Twitter in support of Loesch. Leslie Knope would hate everything that's going on in America right now as it pertains to school shootings; more specifically, she would hate the NRA.
On Wednesday, Loesch represented the controversial group on CNN during a town-hall debate on gun control in Sunrise, Florida.
Nick Offerman, who played Nick Swanson in the USA comedy drama, shared Poehler and Shur's sentiment. I love you and I like you. Along with Poehler, Offerman and Scott, the show starred Aziz Ansari, Chris Pratt, Aubrey Plaza, Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones.
If not, well, at least we have Mike Schur and company coming to the defense of Leslie Knope still to this day.
And of course Leslie's ever-supportive on-screen husband Ben, IRL Adam Scott, had words too warning the NRA to keep their hands off Leslie Knope.
Despite the blowback, the tweet remains up on the NRA account which isn't all that surprising because, as Loesch proved on Wednesday night, listening isn't the organization's biggest strength. The NRA seems to have mostly ignored these requests, as the tweet still remains, unfazed by their misappropriation of a character that stands in direct opposition of their values.
