Overwatch's Uprising event will be returning for another round next month. Will we be seeing this top secret mission during the new Uprising event?
While the teaser released from Blizzard looks like the same as the one we got previous year, there is an interesting little tidbit at the end that suggests there may be something new in the works for Uprising.
While Overwatch has repeated events before (such as Halloween Terror, Winter Wonderland, and the Lunar New Year) they've always added new things that changed how the event was played out the year before. The event also brought special Blackwatch skins for Genji and McCree, so expect Moria to possibly get one as well to match her comrades. This idea being that the event is rebranding to Archives from Uprising, given that Uprising is now the name of an Overwatch League team. So if a PvE Brawl similar to the one found past year is in there, the chances are that these will be the four heroes to choose from. Blackwatch was the covert operations arm of Overwatch before it was shut down and suspended for suspicious activity.
Earlier today, a teaser went live on the official Overwatch Twitter suggesting the return of Uprising. The Petras Act, which made Overwatch activity illegal, is believed to have gone into effect six years ago - one year after the hinted Blackwatch mission.
The Overwatch community is already speculating on what this event is going to contain, which parts of the Overwatch lore will be included and which characters will be playable during this event.
