Kuo says that mass production of the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will begin 3-5 weeks later than the OLED models due to the recent decision to add a DSDS model. An analyst believes that the 6.1-inch 2018 LCD iPhone could cost as low as $550 and it may arrive with single-SIM and dual-SIM dual standby (DSDS) models.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has today issued a new investor note in which he offers up additional details on this year's iPhone refresh. The single SIM model could retail for anything between US$ 550 and US$ 650, while the dual-SIM model would sell for between US$ 650 and US$ 750. Apple's iPhone SE, 6s, 7 and 8 models shipped well in Q4, and the older handsets are still popular with iPhone users looking for value for money.
Apple launched its anniversary edition iPhone X a year ago and raised many eyebrows for its expensive price tag. Notably, the iPhone X 2 and iPhone 11 (X Plus) will stick to the more expensive OLED display while the X SE will have the cheaper LED screen. The single SIM model is said to cost between $550 and $650.
According to the latest research from Counterpoint's Q4 2017, the premium smartphone market did not grow as expected while Apple remained the most profitable brand, capturing 86 per cent of the total handset market profits. Getting nearly iPhone X features without paying iPhone X price sounds like a surreal dream.
According to the news revealed by the Russian-language regulatory filing with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and French online portal, Consomac, Apple is going to give its budget-conscious consumers a big and happy surprise! Some speculate that the rumored iPhone SE 2 could have a glass back to allow wireless charging capabilities, as well as 4-inch size, A10 Fusion chips, and a slightly larger battery.
The iPhone X accounted for 35 percent of worldwide smartphone profits in the last quarter of 2017, despite reports of slower than usual sales and even though it was only available for two months. Following the previous SE model (which looked like the iPhone 5S), it will be the new entry-level version of the smartphones with the same design as the iPhone X.
"Apple is planning to introduce three new iPhones in 2018, the 5.8" OLED model likely to be called iPhone X2, the 6.1" LCD iPhone, and the phablet-focused device which can be referred to as "iPhone X Plus". Analyst firm Canalys estimated it shipped 29 million iPhone X units in the quarter. The smartphone will be cheaper compared to other Apple devices.
