Conflict between Iran and Israel escalated on Friday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announcing the readiness to confront Iran at any price and with Iran responding through Deputy Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander (IRGC) Hossein Salami, who said Iran is ready to target Israel from two fronts, adding that Israel will only have to flee through the sea.
The presidents of Turkey and Iran on Tuesday vowed to press on with their alliance alongside Russian Federation over Syria, the Turkish presidency said Tuesday, after Ankara backed strikes by the United States of America and its allies against the Assad regime.
Zarif "is a foreign minister of a country that sent armed drones into Israel and fired missiles at Saudi Arabia", Netanyahu said. Israel's military spokesman declined to comment.
Both Russia and the Syrian regime accused Israel of being behind the strike but the Israeli military has refused to confirm or deny its involvement, as is its practice with nearly all operations in Syria. Another strike, however, which was aimed specifically at the Iranian drone unit at the site and killed seven Iranian Guard troops, was only confirmed by an anonymous "senior military official" to the New York Times.
"When the arrogant powers create a sanctuary for the Zionist regime to continue survival, we shouldn't allow one day to be added to the ominous and illegitimate life of this regime", Mousavi said in a Fars News Agency report.
"We say to the Israeli; we seriously know you. You became arrogant. If there's a war, the result will be your complete elimination", he said.
"I would suggest to all those on our northern border to think again about what they are doing", Liberman said.
The remarks came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made several threats against Iran in recent days. "We are ready for every scenario".
"I do not believe that we are headed towards regional war but I do believe that unfortunately, Israel has continued its violations with worldwide law, hoping to be able to do it with impunity because of the United States support and trying to find smokescreens to hide behind", said Zarif, Xinhua reported.
