Separate from snoozing, but infused with a magic sprinkling of artificial intelligence is a new feature called "nudging" which calls your attention to emails that Google thinks you might need to respond to before a deadline.
Google's Gmail which is arguably one of the world's most popular email service is receiving a major overhaul today which not only includes a redesign but also a host of new features.
There are also updates for the Gmail mobile apps, including high priority notifications to help you to focus on what needs to be dealt with first. Emails with sensitive information can be put in "confidential mode".
Well according to Google. the new interface of Gmail is as simple as clicking on the "cog" settings button on the right side of the interface and selecting "Try the new Gmail". Notwithstanding, the choice wasn't accessible for us right now, so the take-off is by all accounts slower than anticipated.
Senders can also set messages to require additional authentication via SMS before viewing. Gmail is also getting a new built-in offline mode since it's now a fully fledged progressive web app.
Gmail will now also detect if you are receiving promotional content repeatedly from particular handles and then adds a card to quickly unsubscribe to such emails. That doesn't prevent someone from doing something like snapping a a photo with a phone, but Google figures that making even a little more of a hassle to leak a confidential email will dissuade many folks.
To start clearing out some of that inbox clutter, Gmail will now recommend mailing lists to unsubscribe from, based on how often you get these mass mailings versus how often you actually read them. For those with messy inboxes, Google uses its algorithms to work out which emails are likely to be important and ensures that they resurface in order to remind the user to reply. The ability to forward, copy, download, or print messages can also be removed. Gmail will start nudging you to follow up with emails you've received a few days ago and neglected.
What are you most excited to see in the new Gmail? So you can make an email disappear from you inbox until a user-specified time.
Gmail brings improved features is Redesigned security notifications.
Essentially, Gmail's confidential emails aren't regular emails.
As you can see in the animation above, attachments also get featured so you can get to them without opening messages.
These are enormously helpful, enabling you to drag emails straight into other apps, and manage your appointments without leaving your inbox. "That move to Google's self-created Tensor processing chip empowers features such as "nudges" to react to overlooked messages and" suggested replies" to the messages. A larger Compose button at the top makes it clear where you need to click to open a new message. The most obvious change is the new look which is more in keeping with the aesthetics of Material Design, but it's the new features that Google is most keen to talk about. Google said the new Gmail experience will roll out to businesses today for companies in the G Suite Early Adopter Program via the admin console.
