Instagram has confirmed that it is working on a native payments feature for booking appointments at restaurants, salons, or other services, and that the feature is already live for some users in the United States and the UK.
"'We're now going to have the ability to enable larger companies, not only small businesses, to integrate a new API [application programming interface] to send and receive messages with people on the WhatsApp platform".
Till now this feature has not been rolled out global level, some users have received it while others not. Whatsapp also allows its user to transfer money directly through messaging app and make payment for the service and products they buy.
You may soon be able to make purchases on Instagram.
Thankfully, with today's update to the service, you can now view videos from Facebook or Instagram right in a conversation thread itself without worrying that you would be force to leave WhatsApp for the duration of the video. It's unclear if peer-to-peer payments might come to Instagram, but having a way to add a credit or debit card on file is a critical building block to that feature. Most of the smartphone users are using the WhatsApp more than any other apps so isn't it good to have the payment options within WhatsApp.
For now, an app named Resy, meant for dinner reservation is being added with this new feature. Some of its clients' Instagram Pages now offer this native payment for booking. For now, the feature is only available for select users in the U.S. as well as in the UK. What remains to be seen, is if Instagram will also introduce peer-to-peer payments similar to Messenger in the future.
WhatsApp is the world's most popular chat app, with over 1.5billion users each month.
India is crowded with the UPI based payments app like PayTM, PhonePe, Tez, BHIM, SBI Pay etc. and now WhatsApp Payments! Whats app for organization, the recently introduced assistance targeting business, presently has 3 million users worldwide, " the face book CEO said. All users will need to do is, head to the dedicated Insta page of the particular movie and click on the payments option.
