On a West Virginia radio show, he suggested that McConnell faces a conflict of interest because he's married to Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, who was born in Taiwan to Chinese parents.
Blankenship also has aired ads accusing McConnell of taking money from his "China family" and claims "Swamp captain Mitch McConnell has created millions of jobs for China people".
If voters in the Mountain State pick one of them, the Republican Party will breathe a huge sigh of relief; officials have been open about their desire to see Blankenship disappear from the scene. "No more fumbles like Alabama", he wrote on Thursday, comparing the coal baron to failed Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.
