The Wildwood Police Department on Wednesday evening released footage captured by the body camera worn by the officer directly involved in the arrest of a 20-year-old mother on the beach over Memorial Day weekend.
The 20-year-old woman now faces several charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer.
Body camera footage reveals a physical altercation that took place on Wildwood Beach between New Jersey police officer and woman. "Once the officer says "you're under arrest", he has to continue with that arrest".
"Alright, that's it. I'm done with you", the officer says in the video. The camera was reactivated during the struggle with the woman seen in the third video.
Beachgoers try to intervene as Weinman screams, "You're not allowed to hit me and choke me like that".
Screen capture from Wildwood Police video. "I tripped and fell and the cop tackled me to the ground and smashed my head into the sand", she wrote.
She's facing two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
She said she had gone to the beach with the father of her child and was approached by officers about a bottle of alcohol she had with her. After a back and forth between Weinman and the officer, Weinman refuses to give the officer her full name. She wouldn't give me her last name, so I said, 'Hey, if you're not going to give me your information, you're going to be locked up'.
The body camera footage shows an officer as he confronts and argues with Ms Weinman over the discovery of alcoholic iced tea drinks in her possession.
Cops ask for her aunt and Emily gets on the phone.
Weinman's lawyer, Stephen Dicht, said the videos support his prior statements about the arrest. "The police did their job", said Troiano, who added he's a former bouncer and doorman. "She probably would have just gotten a citation".
Police will release body camera video showing the officers being insulted and spat on.
"From what I see on the video and only on the video, from not even talking to the officers, I think they did a decent job", Regalbuto said. On Wednesday, Wildwood police released video that show's the officer's perspective.
"This young lady attacked our officer", Troiano said.
She says she failed a breathalyser test, but denied she had been drinking the contents of the bottle she had on her.
A court date was set for June 6, though Dicht said it will probably be rescheduled for an unknown date.
