China's defence minister as well as the Minister for Public Security will visit India.
"As regards the illegal withdrawal of the United States from these agreements, more serious and more significant dialogue between our countries is necessary", Rouhani said at talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in China's Qingdao, which hosts the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.
Though new and old contentious issues remain, there has been a turnaround in bilateral ties since the military standoff was resolved last August.
"In response to the president's suggestion for enhancing financial cooperation between the two countries and also helping trade, the Prime Minister conveyed to President Xi India's readiness to permit the Bank of China to establish its branch in Mumbai", Gokhale said.
Though not officially on the agenda, analysts say that one key topic of discussion this year may focus on whether Iran will be allowed to ascend from its position as an SCO observer to become a full member state - a development it has sought since 2008 but has been unable to achieve while subject to United Nations sanctions. Diplomats said the summit is also likely to explore ways to deepen cooperation among the SCO member countries in dealing with threats of terrorism, extremism, and radicalisation besides delving into issues relating to trade, investment, and connectivity.
Addressing a press briefing here, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said that President Xi suggested to Prime Minister Modi that India and China should set up a new bilateral trade target of $100 billion by 2020.
"On the Indian side, it will be headed by the external affairs minister (Sushma Swaraj) while on Chinese side, it will be headed by state councillor and foreign minister Wang Yi". The two leaders also agreed to continue close coordination and cooperation on all issues of mutual interest.
Gokhale said Xi referred to the growing popularity of Indian films and not only spoke about the success of the movie Dangal in China, but also mentioned that Baahubali 2 and other Hindi movies had done well in the country.
Apart from this, the two sides formally agreed to undertake a joint project in Afghanistan, pertaining to "capacity building".
An MoU on sharing hydrological information of the Brahmaputra river by China to India and another pact on amendment of the protocol on phytosanitary requirements for exporting rice from India to China to include non-Basmati rice were signed after the Modi-Xi talks in the eastern Chinese port city. "And both leaders made very positive assessment of the Wuhan summit", he said, adding both the leaders agreed to keep open the strategic communication.
