On Wednesday, while greeting yoga enthusiasts across the world, the Prime Minister had said that this exercise is one of the most precious gifts given by the ancient Indian sages to humankind. "In the USA alone, more than 20 million people are practicing yoga and this number is increasing at an average of five percent every year", he said. Practicing yoga regularly keeps oneself calm, mood swings and fatigue would be balanced and the quality of life will be significantly improved. The Prime Minister reached the venue a little after 6:30 am, addressed the gathering and performed yoga along with those assembled there. "So now the world knows the power of yoga", participant Sidharth Singh, 23, told AFP.
"Dehradun to Dublin, Shanghai to Chicago, Jakarta to Johannesburg, Himalayan highlands or deserts, yoga is enriching millions of lives all over the world".

There was also floating yoga on board the Japanese naval ship JS Ise and on the Indian Navy's INS Sahyadri, both taking part in military exercises in the Pacific, the Indian Navy said.
