Moonves' current wife, television personality Julie Chen, addressed the sexual assault accusations against her husband on The Talk, a daytime talk show on which she is a host. Redstone is pressing a merger of the two companies and Moonves is fighting that effort. And she doubled down on her earlier support of the embattled executive.
The revelations come amid a legal battle for control of the United States television giant - between the Redstone family, which controls CBS, and the board, chaired by Moonves. "Make no mistake, Les Moonves is my guy", he said.
The network's board of governors on Monday are scheduled to hold a teleconference meeting "around midday Eastern time", to discuss plans for independent members to probe sexual misconduct allegations against Moonves.

She is a former CBS news anchor who also hosts the "Big Brother" reality show.
The CBS board includes one director who-apart from The New Yorker bombshell-has an especially tense relationship with Moonves: Shari Redstone, whose father Sumner Redstone serves as chairman emeritus.
Moonves has headed CBS Corporation since 2016.
Moonves has been very well compensated for his company's success.
