Mohamed Salah's first-half strike moved Liverpool top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 victory over a stubborn Brighton side.
The Brazilian is hoping to get some game time at his new club in the coming weeks and broke his silence after the 1-0 win against Brighton on Saturday evening.
Despite a few hiccups in the end, Liverpool managed to hold on to their fragile lead and kept another clean sheet to remain as the only team to yet to concede a goal in the Premier League this season.
"We've had two very hard games and we've come out with a lot of credit". You seek guidance from the other players around you and that's worked really well and I feel my performances in pre-season were good.
They did, however, give the hosts some nervous moments in the closing stages and were denied a point when Alisson saved superbly from Pascal Gross' header.
"We conceded a very poor goal and you have to make sure you stick in the game", he said.
"You have to learn from it, but it is a soft goal".
Hughton was pleased with his side's response to going a goal down at Anfield. We finished strong and we won't have many better opportunities. I expect a lot from the boys, I'm pretty demanding but I know we can improve.
"I have a lot of respect for it and we are warned".
Liverpool midfielder Fabinho signed from AS Monaco for a reported £43million fee and he is believed to be a player that can help take Liverpool's defensive game to a new level while also allowing the likes of Naby Keïta to unlock their offensive prowess.
