The publication he was rushed to hospital in Florida, after going into cardiac arrest at his home. The star went on to appear in almost 200 films throughout his lifetime. Reynolds proved he was still a relevant actor by earning an Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe win for Boogie Nights, a movie in which he played pornographic film producer Jack Horner. After graduating from Palm Beach High School in West Palm Beach, Reynolds attended Florida State University, where he played football.
Although he meant to go professional, his career was cut short by a series of injuries. But when injuries derailed a promising athletic career, Reynolds turned to acting.

Reynolds was the star in classics like "Smokey and the Bandit", "Boogie Knights" and "Cannonball Run". The former couple appeared in four films together before calling it quits in the '80s.
Reynolds, known for "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Deliverance", among other major cinematic productions, is survived by his son, Quinton. That marriage ended in 1994. The famed actor was married to Judy Carne from 1963 until 1965 and Loni Anderson from 1988 until 1993. He also earned an Emmy in 1991 for the memorable role.

"I just kept working", Reynolds recounted to ET in 2015 about struggling with addiction and battling rumors that he was dying of AIDS due to his extreme weight loss. He was now filming "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" opposite Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. He was cast in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino directed "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", scheduled for release next year.
