Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018), the world's first smartphone with four rear cameras is now official.
The A9 joins Samsung's existing line-up of mid-range phones, one that includes the A7 - a device that features three rear cameras - which was unveiled last month. The camera app will let you switch between the regular sensor to a wide angle sensor with just a tap or switch between 2X optical zoom lens and depth sensor without needing additional third-party accessories.
This allows for a variety of different shooting modes, as well as customised shots using features like artificial bokeh effects. The feature is also present on the Galaxy A7 - Samsung's first triple camera smartphone. The glass-bodied phone (no wireless charging though, sadly) is available in your choice of Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue or Bubblegum Pink - the latter two of which take a leaf out of Huawei's book with some really stunning gradient finishes.
Overall, the Galaxy A9 (2018) hardware looks quite good for a mid-range smartphone, but the price tag will be a deal breaker. There is now no pricing information available for the device.
With that being said, for selfies and video calls, you get a 24 MP single camera on the front having f/2.0 aperture. And the 3,800 mAh battery would put even the Galaxy S9+ to shame. With Depth Lens, you can manually manage the photos' depth of field and focus on the subject. Upfront, You'll find slightly bigger 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2220 pixels) Infinity Display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.
But that's only because we don't expect to see the Samsung A9 (2018) released in the U.S.
The Galaxy A9 and it appears to be an improved version of the Galaxy A8 Star. With all these four rear cameras, the device can capture photos with 2x optical zoom, 120-degree wide-angle view, and ideal bokeh shot.
There's a rear fingerprint scanner too, plus a headphone jack and USB-C port on the base of the A9. Coming to the software, the Galaxy A9 offers Android 8.0 Oreo, and knowing Samsung, the Pie update isn't likely to roll out until 2019.
