The star is reportedly set to earn $15 million, which would be equal the payouts for Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth in both Avengers: Infinity War and their own starring roles movies, Captain America: Civil War and Thor: Ragnarok.
That Black Widow movie in the works is making moves towards its existence, and the biggest news is that actress Scarlett Johansson, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is getting a $15 million payday for this upcoming stand-alone film.
In comparison, Robert Downey Jr. was paid around $700,000 for the first Iron Man film.
But before you start taking all these numbers to the bank, it's worth noting that a Marvel spokesperson denied Johansson's reported salary, saying, "Marvel Studios disputes the accuracy of these numbers, and as a matter of policy, we never publicly disclose salaries or deal terms".
The latest rumor surrounding the film also offers that a time jump is involved, with the flick kicking off five years in the future following Thanos having destroyed half the universe and Marvel superheroes.
The image, featuring a glowing blue and white object, is being speculated to be a tesseract, in turn indicating that Avengers 4 could show a time travel sequence. The only female founding member of the Avengers in the MCU took home $40 million in the a year ago, and it looks like she'll keep piling on the big bucks. Although The Wasp was the first female Avenger in the comics (she also helped name the team), Black Widow has been around since the 60's.
