The goal of their visit is to strengthen diplomatic ties between Ghana and the United Kingdom and would highlight key themes within the Commonwealth of Nations.
Prince Charles who arrived in Gambia on Wednesday evening is expected to visit the Medical Research Council and conduct a tour of the Gambian Armed Forces Training Centre, who are training to play a rôle in the United Nations.
Ghana was the first majority-ruled African country to join the Commonwealth in 1957 and the visit aims to highlight Britain's enduring relationship with Ghana.
"Their Royal Highnesses' visit to Ghana comes at an opportune moment", said British High Commissioner, H.E. Iain Walker in a press statement. This will be The Duchess of Cornwall's first visit to Ghana.
The Royals are now at the Jubilee House for a brief ceremony with President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
They will also make a trip to the Christianborg Castle which was previously owned by the British.

The Prince of Wales who ended an official visit to The Gambia on Friday has made a vow toward the country's infrastructural development.Rounding off a three-day visit to the country, Prince Charles promised that the United Kingdom would become more involved in efforts to improve Gambia's fledgling infrastructure.
Prince Charles would also meet with a number of British Ghanaians doing various businesses.
Prince Charles will also attend a meeting with Ghanaian and global business leaders to discuss sustainable practice in Ghana's cocoa industry and key environmental issues.
